GameDesign and Development

About

MichielAboutme

My name is Michiel Krol and live near Utrecht in the Netherlands. Beginning from the early years of my life, I already played a lot of games. Sitting before our old 25 Mhz computer playing the Ninja turtles or getting around with the Sega MegaDrive was my average day.

As a little kid, I had pretty quick my own plans to develop games. When I was nine years old I started working with SuperLogo. A program which let young children learn to program simple applications. A few years later I got familiar using the Unreal Editor to design levels, playing with Macromedia Flash 4 and doing some creative stuff with Adobe Photoshop 7. Later on I did some 3d with Swift 3D and SolidWorks.

At my 17th I started to study Industrial Product Design because there wasn’t any study about games yet. After a year I had to quit the study because it wasn’t my cup of tea. By coincidence (or faith) I heard people talking about a game study while being in the train. After some googling and doing a test to enter the study I got in. Finally I was doing the study that belonged to me. After a good four years I graduated as a Master of Art and Technology in GameDesign and Development.
